THEFT CASES ALONG OAU CAMPUS GATE AND IBADAN ROAD AXIS (UPDATED!!!). Must read and learn from.

By Olubunmi Sanyaolu

Students of the Obafemi Awolowo University have complained of series of theft cases along the University gate and the main express way which students living along Ibadan road and Aserifa areas must pass through.

Going home late at night have become a major issue for students as the fear of the unknown grips the heart of many. It was reported that some men or group of petty robbers would come out of nearby bushes with knives in there hands in order to rob any unsuspecting passerby.

Prior to this, the safety and properties of students are in the hands of these evil doers who would stop at nothing to quench their thirst with the properties of others.

Around 9:30pm on the 22nd of January, a lady from the department of linguistics and African languages identified as Olubunmi had her phone stolen by men who threatened her with a knife just on the field directly opposite the university.

OAU students are even more concerned because of the new declaration by the University management to reduce the number of students in halls of residence, which as a result would send more students into the hands of these hungry men.

We urge students to be more vigilant and avoid places where they could be easily overpowered and robbed and most especially, they should try and avoid bushy serene.
