POWERBIKE ACCIDENT: Security tightened at Abuja hospital as Buhari visits son for second time. See details...

For the second time in one week, President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday visited the Cedar Crest Hospital, Gudu District, Abuja, to see his son Yusuf who is receiving medical attention following a motorbike accident which left him with a broken limb and severe head injury.

However, security around the hospital is said to be tight and top notch with policemen stationed there screening whoever seeks to gain entry to the medical centre.

Reports say dignitaries such as Kaduna State Governor, Nasir el-Rufai, visited the hospital and spent about 20 minutes checking on Yusuf.

According to a guard who pleaded anonymity; “The dignitaries have not stopped coming. We see luxury cars every 10 minutes, we see police escorts; I can’t mention everyone who has visited today.

“But the wife of the President slept in the hospital. She is still with the injured son.”

Yusuf was racing on a power bike with his friend Bashir Gwandu when he had a collision during a race in Abuja in an accident which occurred on Tuesday night.

Gwandu, Yusuf’s friend who is said to be in coma is also at the Intensive Care Unit of the Cedar Crest Hospital, Abuja.

There were also reports that the president may have taken a swipe at security agents stationed with Yussuf for allowing him go out at the period of time to embark on the motorbike race.
